Cookie Policy

Last updated: 8th October 2026

About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Age Care Pro uses cookies and similar technologies on agecare.co.uk, what each one does, and how you can control them. Please read it alongside our Data Protection & Privacy Policy, which explains how we look after your personal information more generally.

Age Care Pro is a trading name of Age Care Bathrooms Ltd, which is the data controller for information collected through this website. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Age Care Bathrooms Ltd trading as Age Care Pro.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit it. They let the site remember things about your visit, such as the choices you have made, and help the people who run it understand how it is used.

Some cookies are set by us (first-party cookies). Others are set by companies whose services we use, such as Google (third-party cookies).

We also use similar technologies that work in the same way, and this policy covers them too:

  • Pixels and tags: small pieces of code that tell an advertising or analytics service that a page has been viewed or a form has been sent.
  • Local and session storage: space in your browser that a site can use to remember information, in a similar way to a cookie.

Some cookies last only until you close your browser (session cookies). Others stay on your device for a set time, or until you delete them (persistent cookies).

How we use cookies

We use cookies for three purposes. Only strictly necessary cookies are set without your permission. We ask before setting analytics or marketing cookies, and you can change your mind at any time.

  • Strictly necessary: these remember your cookie choices and keep the site working as you move between pages. We do not need your consent for them, because the site cannot work properly without them.
  • Analytics: these show us how visitors use the site, such as which pages are read and where people get stuck, so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and only with your consent.
  • Marketing: these help us see whether our adverts on Google, Facebook and Instagram are working, for example by counting how many people send an enquiry after clicking one. They also help those platforms show our adverts to people likely to find them useful. We only use them with your consent.

Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with a page, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, so we can see where a page is confusing. We link Clarity to Google Analytics using a random identifier, not your name or contact details.

The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) require your consent before we store or read cookies on your device, unless they are strictly necessary. Where cookies collect personal information, we handle it in line with the UK GDPR and our Data Protection & Privacy Policy.

The cookies we use

These are the cookies and similar technologies agecare.co.uk uses. We last checked this list on 8 October 2026. Some only appear in certain situations, for example when you arrive by clicking one of our adverts. Where a provider sets a cookie on its own domain, we name that domain.

Strictly necessary

  • ac_consent (Age Care Pro): remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again on every page. Lasts 6 months.
  • acHeroVideoPlayed (Age Care Pro, session storage): remembers that the home page video has already played, so it is not downloaded again. Lasts until you close the browser tab.

Analytics

  • _ga (Google Analytics): tells one visitor apart from another, using a random ID. Lasts 2 years.
  • _ga_QZYN1TNNBH (Google Analytics): keeps track of your current visit. Lasts 2 years.
  • _clck (Microsoft Clarity): remembers the random ID Clarity gives your browser on this site. Lasts 1 year.
  • _clsk (Microsoft Clarity): joins the pages you view into a single visit recording. Lasts 1 day.
  • _cltk (Microsoft Clarity, session storage): used by Clarity while it records your visit. Lasts until you close the browser tab.
  • MUID (Microsoft, on clarity.ms and bing.com): identifies browsers visiting Microsoft sites. Microsoft uses it for advertising, site analytics and other operational purposes. Set when Clarity loads. Lasts 13 months.
  • SRM_B (Microsoft, on c.bing.com): used by Microsoft alongside MUID to identify your browser. Set when Clarity loads. Lasts 13 months.
  • MR (Microsoft, on c.clarity.ms and c.bing.com): tells Microsoft whether to refresh the MUID cookie. Lasts 7 days.
  • SM (Microsoft, on c.clarity.ms): keeps the MUID cookie in step across Microsoft’s websites. Lasts until you close your browser.
  • ANONCHK (Microsoft, on c.clarity.ms): records that MUID has not been passed to Microsoft’s advertising cookie. Lasts less than 1 day.

Marketing

  • _gcl_au (Google Ads): lets us count enquiries that follow a Google advert. Lasts 90 days.
  • _gcl_aw (Google Ads): set when you click one of our Google adverts, to link that click to a later enquiry. Lasts 90 days.
  • _gcl_ls (Google Ads, local storage): keeps the same advert-click information in your browser’s local storage. Lasts until you clear it.
  • GCL_AW_P (Google, on google.com, doubleclick.net and googleadservices.com): records on Google’s own domains that you clicked one of our adverts. Lasts 90 days.
  • _fbp (Meta, for Facebook and Instagram): gives your browser a random ID so Meta can measure our adverts and show them to relevant people. Lasts 90 days.
  • _fbc (Meta, for Facebook and Instagram): set when you click one of our adverts on Facebook or Instagram, to link that click to your visit. Lasts 90 days.
  • lastExternalReferrer, lastExternalReferrerTime and multiFbc (Meta, local storage): remember which website sent you to us, and any Meta advert you clicked. Last until you clear them.

Meta also receives a copy of page views through its Conversions API Gateway, a Meta service that sends the same information from a server rather than from your browser. We treat it as part of our marketing cookies and it follows the same choice.

Managing your choices

You decide which cookies we use, and you can change your mind whenever you like.

When you first visit, a cookie banner asks for your choice. You can accept all cookies, reject all optional cookies, or choose by category under “Manage preferences”. If you reject them, we only use strictly necessary cookies. We remember your choice for 6 months and then ask again.

To change your mind, select “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. Turning a category off stops those cookies being used from then on. Cookies already saved stay on your device until they expire, so you may also want to delete them in your browser.

In your browser, you can block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies means we cannot remember your cookie choices. Each browser explains how:

Other companies that set cookies

Three companies set cookies or similar technologies through our website. Their own privacy policies explain how they handle the information.

Videos and maps. Some pages show YouTube videos, which we embed in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and our Contact page shows a Google map. Google may set its own cookies if you play a video or use the map.

Transfers outside the UK. Some of these companies handle information in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards described in our Data Protection & Privacy Policy, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when we add, remove or change the cookies we use, and change the date at the top. If a change affects what you have agreed to, we will ask for your choice again.
